During our trip to California, our baby girl turned one! We celebrated this momentous day with a Clairey-friendly carrot birthday cake with cream cheese frosting. I spent over two hours concocting her smash cake and it took minutes before she lost interest :) It didn't matter though, it was the birthday cake that I didn't think I'd get to make. For a long time, I was afraid I'd be sticking a birthday candle in her peach puree...
